The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a harvest festival in Chinese culture, with a variety of customs including family reunions, ceremonial foods (like the Mooncake!), and colorful lanterns, all celebrating the brightest moon of the year.

Shop owner, Valentine, reminisces growing up in Hong Kong:

"As a child this was one of my favorite holidays.

I would make lanterns of my favorite animals to be lit on the night of the full moon. We would go to the local park and watch the moon rise with friends & family. My mom would buy Mooncakes (white bean and double yoke in particular) which symbolize unity and completeness, to share with everyone.

My dad would tell my brother and I the story of the fairy that lives on the moon with her rabbit, and one night of the year when the moon is the brightest, she would come down to unite with her farmer husband."
